FRIDAY 13 JANUARY – RSNO at the USHER HALL, Lothian Road, EH1 2EA. Rameau Suite from Les Boréades Haydn Symphony No85 La Reine Brahms Symphony No2 Sir Roger Norrington (CONDUCTOR) Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Sir Roger Norrington is a living legend – the man whose groundbreaking Beethoven recordings shot a blast of fresh air through the world of classical music. And at the age of 77, his performances are still raising eyebrows and electrifying audiences. Tonight, he powers the RSNO through two centuries of masterpieces – from Rameau’s sensational baroque dances, through Marie Antoinette’s favourite bit of Haydn, to Brahms’ mellowest symphony, he’ll make you hear with new ears.
